Like every year, the moment that all American football fans have been waiting for has arrived: the Super Bowl. This sporting event is so important that it becomes a party not only in the United States but in other parts of the world, including Mexico.
And as in any party, there are two key guests: food and drink. The drink that is most consumed on this day is beer, but in terms of food, the variety is immense, although we can focus on two large groups: snacks and main courses.

Did you know that Super Bowl day is the second most food consumed in the United States, only preceded by Thanksgiving? The reason is associated with a moment of celebration, and meeting with friends and family.
According to US media, one of the foods that could be consumed to a greater extent is avocado. The figure could rise to 139 million pounds, that is, more than 62 million kilos or more than 62 thousand tons.
Why is so much avocado eaten in the United States?
Globally, the United States is considered one of the largest consumers of avocados, if not the main one, as indicated by the Colombian Export Portal. This would have to do with the fact that this fruit is considered a superfood.
Called green gold, avocado contains monounsaturated fats, the so-called healthy ones, as well as vitamin E, an excellent antioxidant, and a little vitamin B6 and C. In addition, it provides potassium, magnesium, calcium, and proteins of vegetable origin.
However, the love of Americans for the avocado is perhaps also influenced by its proximity to Mexico, the main producer and exporter of this fruit in the world… without neglecting its flavor and versatility.
That is why it is not uncommon for avocado to have a special place in the Super Bowl, mainly in the form of guacamole, a perfect snack, accompanied by toast or chips. To learn about other snacks and dishes that you can enjoy this day, ENTER THE GALLERY.
