Spotify is experimenting with the vertical video feature

The latest Spotify app is testing the TikTok-like vertical video feature. Many popular app companies like Twitter and Facebook also experimented with such features a few months back.

The app also revealed a new Discover tab for iPhone as an early test build. This tab has been added to the front page of the app. Now they’re looking to include a vertical video feed similar to TikTok’s successful design. This feature allows users to scroll quickly. It’s quite similar to TikTok’s interface.

However, the app authority didn’t clarify whether the feature is planned for a broad release or just being introduced as a test. This feature is now available on Apple’s behalf for early-adopter beta versions of the apps.

The inventor of the hashtag, Chris Messina, first discovered the feature. Chris posted a short video on Twitter explaining the app’s new system.

A Spotify spokesperson said: “At Spotify, we routinely conduct a variety of tests in an effort to improve our user experience,” The statement also explained, “Some of these tests end up paving the way for our broader user experience and others just serve as an important learning. We have no further news to share at this time.”

TikTok’s vertical scrolling video format is becoming popular. YouTube has an experimental version with the latest feature called Shorts. Similarly, Instagram has added a similar feature called Reels while Snapchat has introduced its Spotlight feature.
